Baisley Park is a community garden for residents of Jamaica Queens, funded by 50Cent’s G-Unity Foundation. An underground cistern uses rain water to irrigate the garden and the rain catchment system provides a place for kids to play underneath. The design intent for Baisley Park Community Garden is inspired by the Kitchen Gardens of Villandry, France. Plants planted by the community introduce a new layer of complexity which reinforces ownership in the garden.
