Hood Design Studio led the renovation of the de Young Museum Gardens in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, masterfully integrating the urban and constructed natural landscape within a previously reworked sand dune environment. This transformative project revitalizes a five-acre space surrounding the museum building, meticulously preserving existing landscape features while introducing new dynamic spaces. These innovatively designed areas cater to both children and adults, fostering a rich interplay between art, architecture, and nature. By blending the urban environment with the natural landscape, this immersive project enhances the visitor experience, turning the area into a haven that nurtures interactions and appreciation for the integration of urban and natural environments.
