 The organizing concepts for the design process included: Preservation - Providing physical traces of early park origins; Social Programming – Provisions for diverse human needs including a children’s play area flower garden, restroom facilities, picnic areas, card tables, sitting spaces, and a central water feature and Recreation – Creation of spaces for horseshoes, an amphitheater and stage area, barbecue and picnic areas, children’s play and strolling.
